Collection of web platform: browser technologies

In 2011 I told every webmaster to bookmark The Web Platform: Browser Technologies (platform.html5.org). It was a single page listing everything browsers could do, grouped into the core platform, graphics and typography, media, events and messaging, storage, real-time communication, performance, security and privacy, and more.
The idea behind that page still matters: the web platform is much bigger than HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and it helps to see it all in one place. Here are the references I would bookmark today instead.
To learn what a feature does
- MDN Web Docs: the reference for every HTML element, CSS property and JavaScript API, with examples and a support table on each page.
- web.dev Learn: structured courses on HTML, CSS, accessibility, images, forms and performance.
To check if you can use it
- Can I use: browser support tables for almost any feature.
- Baseline: a simple label for features that work in all major browsers. "Widely available" means it has worked everywhere for at least two and a half years, so it is safe to use without a fallback.
To go to the source
- HTML Living Standard (WHATWG): the HTML spec, updated continuously.
- CSS current work (W3C): every CSS specification and its status.
- ECMAScript (TC39): the JavaScript language spec.
To see what's coming
- Chrome Platform Status, WebKit Feature Status and Firefox release notes show what each engine is shipping.
