Are you a Workaholic, ask your self
First appeared on mobifreaks.com · Updated
Yesterday one of my colleagues told me I am a workaholic. I said, I am. Then I went home and thought I should confirm it, so I started googling. I found a good set of questions from Workaholics Anonymous that settled it.
Their list has 20 questions. The ones that hit me hardest were along these lines:
- Does work excite you more than family or anything else?
- Do you take work to bed, into weekends and on holidays?
- Is work what you most like to do and talk about?
- Do you regularly work more than 40 hours a week?
- Do you turn your hobbies into ways to make money?
- Have friends and family stopped expecting you on time?
- Do you underestimate how long things take, then rush to finish?
- Do you get irritated when someone asks you to stop working to do something else?
- Do you think about work while driving, falling asleep or when others are talking?
- Do you work or read during meals?
After reading all of them, I can say I am a workaholic.
The full questionnaire is on the Workaholics Anonymous website.
